The Gold Fleet's first race is Thursday. Defending world champion Ron Sherry, Kent Baker, Eric Anderson and James Thieler await their first starting flag. Hal Bowman, Jeff Kent and Bob Cummins are racing in the Silver Fleet. Leon LeBeau is racing in Bronze. We continue tomorrow with the first Gold (A) Race. Wind was first around 4 m/s in D-qualifier rises to 5m/s in C-Qualifier and at least 7m/s in the B-qualifier. The ice conditions were tricky. The thin layer of snow was like sailing through a styrofoam surface. Most runners stuck and you had best chances with plate runners.
