Title: Dont be THAT guy series for new racers (or rusty ones)
Post by: KB [us5219] on January 15, 2013, 10:08:57 PM
Go to http://www.tiyc.net/ to see a series of illustrations and hints of things that many of us had to learn the hard way at our first regattas.
I know my first time at at a North American Championship, I was confused and a bit unsure of what to expect.  So one by one, I hope to address some of the things that bewilder most new sailors.

Hopefully there will be an update from time to time.
A chapter a day would be nice, but dont count on it!

Way to go!  I'm happy to see anything that encourages our Rookies..
Not everyone had an experienced family member bring them onboard..
Keep it coming!

And there is always Jane Pegel's classic "Sailing Smart" article from the "Runner Tracks":

One of my recommended rules articles is Ken Smith's "The Leeward Mark: Where Rules Collide and You Shouldn't":
