Title: Lake Kegonsa Racing This Weekend
Post by: Mike Barnett (DN 5507) on January 16, 2013, 10:10:45 PM
DN 4LIYC racing planned for Lake Kegonsa this weekend. Plan is to launch from Pleasant Springs launch. We will be sailing on a separate course from the ISA regatta.  10a start time.  DN's will be the only fleet, so we plan on running a combination of regular scored club races and short unscored tune-up races.

Just FYI, it looks like the wind will increase all day, possibly to "nuking" levels by early afternoon.

The ISA/Renegade regatta has scheduled their first race for 8:30am to try and get some racing in early in case the winds get too high.

NOAA (usually a conservative/under-estimator) has the first "gusting too" forecast at 3:00pm with 16 mph gusting to 25mph.
WIndAlert's "Quick Look" model (usually pretty accurate or slightly high) has the big wind (i.e. 25+mph gusts) arriving around 9:00am and increasing from there...

Sunday is calmer in all the models (10-15'ish mph), but much colder ~12F...
