Title: Racing at west end of Geneva Lake, WI, on February 16-17, 2013
Post by: DN 805 on February 15, 2013, 05:37:34 PM
On February 16-17, 2013, the Skeeter Ice Boat Club will be having racing on the west end of Geneva Lake, sailing out of Fontana, WI.
The ice is a 9.5. smooth as glass with a few drifts.   Ice is 5" thick.   Crack running across the lake one mile out from Fontana is marked with Christmas trees.    Do not sail more than two miles from Fontana, beyond there is old ice that is cruddy and also a pressure ridge.

DNs race at noon on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.   Five races per day.   We sail until 1/2 hour before sundown.   The fleet interchanges with Skeeters and Nites.

Visitors are welcome to race but will not be scored,  and are asked to start at the ends of the line.   Also welcome to join the Club.   Only $31.65 per season, including tax.  Our season runs through March 15th.

Access the ice across the Village of Fontana beach.  No cars on the ice.  Trailers OK onto the ice.  No trailers permitted to be left on the beach overnight due to Village ordinance.
