Title: Inexpensive Ice-Screws
Post by: Geoff Sobering on February 21, 2014, 05:03:19 PM
Hi, I've been slowly replacing my old, hard to set, ice-screws with more modern ones that have built-in handles.
(Many thanks to Mike Barnett for gifting me one at Green Lake! ;D 8))

Mostly I've been getting them via E-Bay auctions; typically they go for about $20-$25.

While I was searching E-Bay, I found two sellers who have brand-new steel screws at really low prices.
Three (3) 100m screws are currently selling for around $50 (one seller has them on sale for $47.88).
Three (3) 200mm screws are around $55.

:o That's about $17 each for the short ones, and just a little more for the longer ones.

There are also titanium screws for about $30 each.

I'm going to order a set of the short screws; they should be perfect for my smallish marks.
I'll report about how the transaction went and how they look/function when they arrive.
