Title: Hoar Frost?

Is it better to use Inserts or Plate Runners?

Probably inserts - hoar frost is generally pretty fragile and shallower than the height of the insert runner body above the ice.  Think of it as something like snow: you stay with inserts until the body starts dragging.

Hoar frost may be fragile, but it is stiff.    Thin Ts are the best choice.

If you want to buy a set, I can send you a photo of a set of three German s.s. Ts that I would be willing to part with for $675.00. plus shipping.    Sharpened to 95 degrees.
