Don't burn all those vacation days just yet! A valiant effort will be attempted to get the 2016 Centrals in before years end. The forecast for North west Michigan appears to be favorable for such an event. There are at least five lakes that we will be monitoring after the GWC. The window of opportunity is either the weekend of December 17-18 or a midweek Regatta between the holidays most likely December 28-29. The ice gods have blessed us like this before and it could happen again. Stay tuned here for updates as reports come in. Although we currently have 2 regatta sized lakes that have frozen they are also snow covered. The very cold upcoming weather brings hopes of more potential venues throughout the central region. I am hoping to find or get word of sailable ice for a mid week Regatta between Christmas and New Years. Ice checkers please let me know of any prospects in the region.

Santa has brought us a "potential" opportunity. The weather in the Central region just may bring us some Regatta ice. After you enjoy time with your families start thinking of spending time with your DN family on a lake to be named as soon as possible. Ice checkers will be scouting lakes on Monday and Tuesday in search of a suitable venue. It is looking like we could be pushing things to a possible THURSDAY/FRIDAY event. Stay tuned for updates as soon as they come in. Numerous lakes have been checked today. Conditions have narrowed our potential sites to two. One in Northern Mi and one in southern Mi both of which will be sailed Wednesday morning.
