Title: Ice Optimist North Americans Update Post by: Daniel Hearn on December 04, 2007, 11:44:14 AM Quick update to let everyone know that it is my intention to make a final call on the regatta by 1:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Dec. 5. At this point, we are still hopeful that the Western Challenge ice checkers will find suitable ice in the western region and make an announcement to that effect prior to the Wednesday deadline. Another option is Lake Wingra here in Madison, Wisconsin. (See pictures at the 4LIYC website). Lake Wingra is a small lake, but would be a great option for a first Junior event. A second snow event, however, is predicted to start in Madison in about a hour. Stay tuned....
