Title: Western Regionals, day #1 (March 8, 2008) Post by: DN 805 on March 08, 2008, 06:45:30 PM A light northerly wind with 90 degree shifts was a challenge for the race committee and the sailors on the first day of racing at the DN Western Regionals on Geneva Lake, WI, March 8th. Four Gold Fleet races were completed and three Silver Fleet races were completed.
Competitors came from Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York, as well as the home Wisconsin contingent. The Skeeter Championship is also being sailed on Geneva. This was the first time that some of the DN sailors had an opportunity to see the fantastic bubble boat Skeeters. The concensus was that we'll stay with our DNs. The forecast for the second and final day of the regatta is for light easterly winds. Official results will be available at the close of the championship. |
