I think most people get a rider on their homeowners or renters insurance.  If you don't already have the required $300k liability as part of your basic policy, it's usually a pretty nominal additional charge.

Hi Folks!
You might have to poke at your insurance agent a bit to confirm coverage.  All too often the initial answer is "no coverage" when the agent isn't familiar with your situation or willing to really check into the question.  I was initially denied coverage when I could not produce a vin number for the DN "boat".  After a bit more research (on my end btw) it was found that I had coverage with my homeowners policy under the "sports participation" clause.  Lesson here?  Don't take an initial "no" for an answer, require they prove it out!

Luck!
