Title: Roof Rack Post by: DN 5449 on May 17, 2010, 01:02:30 PM I am thinking of putting a roof rack on my Van,thought it could fill dual purpose, carry my Wifes kayak in the summer and my DN in the winter.I included a picture of the support system.Do you think it would be better to support the DN on its side or bottom.Does anyone else use a kayak rack for there DN?

Side takes up less room if you have multiple boats, masts, etc on the roof. A standard flat bar Thule rack is my recomendation. Use heavy ratcheting straps and get a tight fitting cover if you drive more than 100 mph.
