Looks like ice in the East and far side of Lake Superior. Watch the weather for a break. If it's not too packed you should be able to sail, especially if the wind is >10 mph (16 km/h or 4.5 m/s). The temperature today looks brutal: 3F for a high. Be really careful to watch for wind-induced frostbite; it can creep up on you with all the endorphins in your system when you're sailing. Cheers, Geoff S. Yes it was a little cool but I dressed warm.The salling was pretty comfortable,especially working pretty hard in the gusts.There is still open water about 1 mile out so still has the potential to freeze and give snow free ice again,especially with temp going down to -25 Celcious tonight. The locals at Silver Harbour are very excited at the possibility of the DN's making a return visit.Apperently you all made a great impression on them.
