Title: West System Epoxy Cleanup
Post by: Bob Gray on February 04, 2017, 12:38:07 PM
We all know that working with this epoxy can be messy to say the least and it gets all over the place when you're done. An old time boat builder told years ago that uncured West cleans up nicely with white vinegar. He also showed me how to remove excess epoxy after it is cured . Very carefully and using the least amount of heat possible, heat the excess and using a scraper, scrape off the excess. I hope this helps.

I failed to mention that I use a heat gun to heat the epoxy.

an other trick I often use is to tape off the surrounding area with packing tape( as close to the area to be epoxied as possible) just remove the tape when done . you can remove the tape before or after the epoxy hardens. It won't stick to packing tape
