Mike.. Sorry to see you report today. Ever since I missed the 2010 North Americans, I've been looking forward to coming to Thunder Bay.

Jane you do not need an excuse like the Gold Cup to come up to Thunder Bay,you are more then welcome anytime.Love to see you come up here when we have good ice and show me how to sail these DN's.Other option is come up is come up in the Summer and bring Sue with you and she could give me some Laser lessons.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPtbtjUfQrII saw this posted of canyon Ferry MT. Looks great as of a few days ago. Lets go. It would be epic Looks like it is about 38 hours of driving from connecticut so you would have to call it on Wed Night so we can get there in time to sail saturday. Lets do it. Eric

No worries! The regatta starts Sunday, so you have a whole extra day to travel!

Driving time from Lake Geneva, WI to Canyon Ferry is about 22 hours. Driving time from Boston to Lake Geneva is also about 22 hours. I'd say 44 hours from Boston to Canyon Ferry, but plenty of time to make start of Bronze race at 1100 on Sunday because Canyon Ferry is on Mountain time.

This would make ThunderBay or any other remote ice location that we have sailed in the last 30 years seem like a Day Trip. I'm in.

No worries! The regatta starts Sunday, so you have a whole extra day to travel! Please correct me if I am wrong, but the NOR states: "January 29, 2011 5:00 – 8:00 PM CST Final registration and check-in for all competitors at the site headquarters as posted" To me that says that you have to be there Saturday evening to check-in with registration. Am I wrong? Ayes

Yesterday's images: Green Bay, WI http://www.iceboating.net/node/3324 I understand they need to get in an airplane today, just to get an idea of how big this sheet really is... Where the heck is that Greenbird guy...

Yes, you need to be there for registration as in the NOR.
As we comment about travel times, we're all just having some fun because we've packed our clothes and we're getting tired of stoning runners.
