When were the regional boundaries established?  What dictated their present configuration, especially the central region, which looks odd to me?
Where is the boundary when there is a body of water between them?
Can a regional regatta be held on body of water that adjoins two regions and be sailed out of the neighboring region if that is the safest launch site?  For example.... Centrals held on Lake Huron, Race HG in Mackinaw (Central Region), Launch site in St. Ignace (Western Region).

Just FYI, there is an error in the map published in the Yearbook.
Michigan's Upper Peninsula is part of the Central Region, not the Western.

I've personally always found it strange that Lake Wawasee near Syracuse Indiana is part of the Western Region...

If you don't do it this year you will be another year older when you do.

That makes a little more sense.  I could see the merit for part of the UP to be in either region.  Indiana also falls into that category.

Thanks,

Geoff:

According to my 1996 yearbook, the UP is in the western region. I am sure I have older one around somewhere. Wauwasee too. But I hope Rich is open enough to pick one of them for the central regional. The race date is racing my tulips.
