What are the main advantages of a Super DN and how much faster are they?

Advantage:  Feels more stable, tracks better, more steady steering at high speeds.

Disadvantage:  Its not a DN

Though the platform uses a DN rig and sail, the rig is not optimized to that platform.  In light and moderate winds, the rig will develop the same power, but the platform is heavier and has more aerodynamic drag, so would certainly be slower.  Even more certainly, slower than one of the gold fleet competitors who really know how to tune and sail this little boat of ours.

You could get away with a fuller sail on the Super, but couldn't point as high or achieve that magical top end in fourth gear (too much form drag)

If your super DN has a taller rig, it is certainly NOT bendy enough to compete with a DN.  The extra sail area will get you going in draggy ice, but you would lack top speed.

If the wind were so high that all-but-the-best couldn't hold down a DN, then the Super DN has a theoretical higher speed.  Frankly, a top sailor in a DN would beat anyone sailing a Super DN, IMHO.  The speed potential is only unlocked by the nut behind the tiller.

If you buy a Super DN, you'd have a blast cruising around.  You couldn't compete in the class racing, and you'd probably not be faster than the best DN on your lake in any weather you dared to sail in.
