The goose excrement that was all over the lake (and esp. at the starboard layline tacking point on Friday) is really abrasive. My 440C runners were pretty dull Friday night, so I touched them up in the hotel room with some sandpaper and stones.
Saturday didn't take as much of a toll (perhaps the water diluted the little piles) and I didn't need to do anything to them that night.
I didn't see any nicks in my runners.
