The Technical Committee has reviewed the DN runner specifications and interpretations.    A new official interpretation has been reviewed by the Governing Committee.   The exact text of the interpretation will be posted under official announcements and also on ice.idniyra.org.

A synposis of the Tech Comm review:
1)  The runner specifications do not establish a minimum weight for a runner.
2)  The old interpretation dated 1977 which seemed to infer that there was a minimum weight has been deleted.
3)  A new interpretation dated 02/17/2014 is now official:  Runners are not considered ballast and runners of different weights may be used during a regatta, provided each runner complies with the specifications and interpretations under E. Runners.

Note:   As is true with each DN component, the number of runners used in a regatta remains restricted.
