Dick and I checked the following lakes today.... Big Glen, Elk (@White Water, 3rd St., & Rex Terrace), Torch (Alden, Y Camp, and 3 other locations), Charlevoix (Irish, Horton Bay, Boyne City, & Whiting Park).
All of them are sailable with enough wind.  All of them had styrofoam drifts some up to 6 inches (Glen & Charlevoix).  All of them are rough, and smooth, and rough, .....  All of them had a ton of ice, hard snow ice on top of black.  None of them are currently ready to race.  What Fridays possible warm and wet day will do to them is anybody's guess, hopefully all will be wonderful, but it is hard to say.

We have not yet heard from our man in Cederville.  We left Sunday with about an 1" of snow on the ice.  This mornings radar was showing snow falling.... tonight more is predicted to fall.....

Dang this can be a silly sport.

Good luck in making the Centrals call Rich.

An attempt to attach some photos.  The first is a shot from Inspiration Point of Big Glen..... It got our hopes up.  The second is from out on the ice..... it shattered our immediate hopes.......  This was typical of what we saw.  Lots of textures.
