Media coverage of European Championship

CNN Europe and German Sports TV both covered the race in Estonia.  CNN will run theirs sometime in March-probably only in Europe.  The German Sports clip ran Sunday evening.  I couldn't get the web site attached, but here is the link address. http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/#/beitrag/video/1276906/Mit-100-Sachen-%C3%BCbers-Glatteis%0D.  They shot some of the footage with an RC helicopter.

Very cool video. With my rudimentary German, I can translate about 1/4 of it. Very nice summary of the class, speed of boat, history, etc.

I have only seen pictures of the European boats but I can't help noticing that many, if not most of them, are painted instead of clear finished. Even the planks. Much more use of graphics and visuals. Pretty cool looking. Don't get me wrong, I like the look of our clear finished boats, but sometimes it looks like we're sailing furniture instead of cold, hard racing machines.  :-)
