-3 Celcieus here this morning in T.Bay,time to start getting geared up for Iceboating.

Last weekend there was skim ice on St. Margaret's bay, but it was short-lived.  We always get early ice here because the fresh water run-off layers on top of the salt water in the bay and cools very quickly.  But it's always the lakes that provide us with first sailable ice, and for the last few years we haven't had any sailable ice in nova Scotia before the new year.  Sad
