Bob,

Is the entire blade Stellite, or just the edge?

Cheers,

From what I know just  the edge on regular steel some type of hard weld that they do in Sweden.I believe Stelite is also Cobalt same relative hardness as 440 but less costly to make dont  have to machine, harden the blade or have to straighten and remachine like 440.
Its a interesting way to  get a hard edge on soft steel.
They stay sharp like the 440 blades  Ive used them in 20 plus mph stuff and they hold as good as 440
good starter set of inserts half the price of the 440 blades

Wait guys.

Stellite is a very hard, tough material applied by welding methods.  Much harder than 440C.  A blade of solid stelite would be expensive, and not suitable for use.  It was developed as a seating material for steam valves and resists damage and steam undercutting.  It is magic in ice where teh surface is melting...
