Just a plug for Don Williams products.I purchased a DN built by Don (mast ,hull, plank,inserts) and have tested it in all conditions.very happy with the purchase , would not hesitate to recommend his products .

Fiberglass Planks  (like Don Williams build) to me seem like they would have a more consistent bend characteristic to them ,then all wood Planks?

DN specification B. Runner Plank
B.7 "Runner plank shall be constructed of wood.  Number of laminations is optional.  Fiberglass may be added.  See Interpretations - General"

B. Runner plank interpretation dated 11/30/98 amended 10/6/2011

'The runner plank must be constructed of wood and meet all minimum dimensions in specifications B.1., 2., 3., 4., 5. before the application of external reinforcement and coatings; and meet all the maximum dimensions in specifications B. 1., 2., 3., 4., 5. after the application any external reinforcement and coatings.  Internal fibergalss reinforcement is not allowed.  Foam, honeycomb, and other non-wood core materials are not allowed."
