I heard that they were only able to hold 1 bronze race today in the EC.  A some what familiar name won Bronze fleet even though the results don't reflect it
Rando Randmaa.  They moved the top 12 up already and his name is not in Bronze fleet.

I tried to copy the results here but I am unable to.

Fair winds,

Loretta

If you go to icesailing.org and click on Austria, you will find photos and race results for the 2007 European Championship.  From the photos it looks as though
they're experiencing the same sort of heat wave that we're experiencing in the midwest, USA.  The ice looks wet and soft.

I received an email from Pete Johns at the 2007 Europeans in Estonia.
No racing Monday.  Too much fog.

Here at Geneva Lake, WI, the temperature is 60 degrees (F) in the sun and the sky is bright blue.

Fooey!

 Cool Hello from Germany,

I just wanna post the sources for information and results of the EC 2007, if there are any, for all the iceboat fans in NA.

1. official information: Info Board IDNIYRA-EU
2. pictures and results: Austrian Website (Our Commodore is an Austrian ;-) )
3. pictures, results and reports in German language: German Website (DN-Yacht Online Magazine)
4. Satelite picture of regatta area: Haapsalu,Estonia
5. Weather and cam http://www.weather.ee/haapsalu#prognoos

The (salty)ice there is very tricky, soft slush surface, but indeed thick enough. The regatta area is a part of a bay of the Baltic, well protected against the open water by some islands. Haapsalu is a famous iceboaters location, where several events took place in the past. i.e. see the 2002 Gold Cup, won by Ron Sherry

At noon on Tuesday I received an email report from Pete Johns at the 2007 European Championship.

On Tuesday there were four Gold races.  The wind was 10-12, some major soft spots.

Polish salors are 1, 2, 3.  Michal Burczynski is leading the regatta.  Ron Sherry took a DNF in the fourth race and is standing in 19th place.  The fourth race was Pete Johns' best race, placing 29th.  Pete is standing in 45th place.
