Just back from a great sail on hard ice on Superior.Insert runners worked great.Only regret is I forgot to bring camera.

When is the typical ice-out up there?

FWIW, it was almost 80F here yesterday; I could have gone out in the Laser if my shoulder wasn't screwed up...

This is not that unusual to still have ice this late.What is unusual is how thick it still is. Still over 2' on the inland lakes.Temp is -2C and snowing here today.
Talking with the Fisherman they figure it will be hard pressed on the inland lakes to have open water by May long.
