If anyone has problems logging into https://ice.idniyra.org/ to register, send me an e-mail at treasurer@idniyra.org and I'll try to help asap.

Please try the "Request new password" link (https://ice.idniyra.org/user/password) first. If your current e-mail is on-record you should get an automated message with password reset information.

Cheers,

DN COMPETITORS:

On behalf of the executive committee and the Race Chairman, I am pleased to announce that the "late fee deadline" has been postponed until midnight January 15th.

This will allow a window of opportunity for sailors to register without a late fee before driving to the race headquarters.  This will also encourage more online registration, and streamline the check-in process the eve before the regatta.

This decision was made for two purposes:
A) To give registrants more time to get signed in to www.ice.idniyra.org
B) To track participation and registration data with a change in late fees to enable discussion at this years meeting about the need for and effectiveness of late fees.

Please go to www.ice.idniyra.org TODAY and make sure you can log in.

You cannot use an email address as a log- in.
The log-in will be in the form of: <firstname.lastname>  (for example: john.smith)
or in some cases: <firstname.m.lastname>  (where m is the middle initial - example: john.a.smith)

if you do not have your password there is a prompt there to REQUEST A NEW PASSWORD.  As of this point, that function does not work with an email address, you must use your log-in name.

If you still have trouble, please contact Geoff Sobering (sobering <AT> gmail<DOT>com)  or myself, Kent Baker (kentb<AT>bex<DOT>net) and we can help you get logged in and online.

CLOTHING OPTIONAL REGATTA SHIPS STORE!!!

The Regatta ship store will be open until March 1st.

BUT TO RECEIVE FREE SHIPPING AND DELIVERY AT THE REGATTA YOU WILL STILL NEED TO SUBMIT AND PAY FOR YOUR ORDER BY NOON FRIDAY JANUARY 3RD

GO TO http://www.shop.stitchminestore.net/  TO ORDER YOUR CUSTOM EMBROIDERED REGATTA WEAR!

The 2014 North American Championship will be here sooner than you think! The program, with the cover featuring Gretchen Dorian's photo of the defending champion John Dennis, is at the printer.

Haven't made up your mind about going? There's still time to register without paying the late fee! Only $60 until January 15, 2014.

Friendly Reminder  - especially for NEW SAILORS that are competing in their first Continental Regatta.

9. All skippers are required to show Proof of Liability Insurance to the extent of $300,000.00. The Regatta Committee may require that Proof of Insurance at the time of registration, if they so choose.

For this regatta, the Committee WILL require proof.

If you don't understand what is needed or you are not sure what this involves PLEASE CONTACT YOUR REGIONAL REAR COMMODORE OR MARK ISABELL OR MYSELF FOR CLARIFICATION.   This is a requirement that is tough to fulfill on a Saturday night or Sunday morning if you don't have it with you.  IF this is your first time being required to show your insurance please review the document with someone ASAP Friday to make sure it is okay in case you need to get in touch with your insurance company before the end of the business hours!

DONT LEAVE HOME WITHOUT YOUR PROOF OF INSURANCE - EVEN IF YOU FILED IT ONLINE.

Most commonly people are using A Homeowners or Renters Policy that has a Personal Liability equal to or more than $300k.

Your document should clearly show the liability amount, your name, and the date range that it is effect.

A few have a custom policy just for their iceboat or all of their boats.

This has been a courtesy announcement.

Please bookmark and use:  https://ice.idniyra.org/hotline   in your browser to get the latest Live official announcements.

In addition to Kent's advise it should be pointed out that a Certificate of Insurance, which is what you need, will usually be supplied by your insurance agent for free.  It isn't a big deal to get one and will take about 10 minutes if you go to your agents office. The Europeans require the following statement to appear on the certificate if you are thinking of going to Europe:  "This coverage includes boat-race-events and boat-race-events fro training purposes, worldwide."

Your DN should be named on the certificate.  A sentence such as "On behalf of the Insurer this confirms coverage for DN iceboat DN-xxxx" should appear on the certificate. This is not a requirement, but it's a good thing to do.

If you are asked for a name of the Certificate Holder, use International DN Ice Yacht Racing Association.

Make copies and give one to the people at registration.
