Random possibly dumb question:
-Will an older sail (1990) that was cut for wood/aluminum mast work as a back up sail (heavy air to spare a good sail) on a composite mast??  Or will it cause impending disaster... broken mast and ego???

Bolt rope may be too thick otherwise would work for cruising maybe light air if it is fuller cut
You usually can get the bolt toe redone for about a 100 bucks maybe a good sail shop could recut the luff curve if needed
