slush runners

(1/1)

us5285:

Does anyone have ideas on the best angle and rocker for slush runnners,Iam building a set (my first) and have heard variaing opinions on what they should look like.I sort of recall an article by J.D. after he won the N.A.`S with a set saying they were 100 or 105 degrees I think, but I can't remember the rocker, what were they? My current plans are to build a set of three, all 36" long. I'm planning on using a variable rate angle, starting at 75 degrees at the front and flattening out to 105 degrees under the load bering part of the runner. My thinking is to make the runner like a powerboat hull, high angle in the front to cut through the "waves" and flattening out towards the stern to help keep the "boat" up on plane. I'm currently planning on making the rocker @ approx. 20-22" of .08. How does this sound? What are your thoughts?

thanks   Chris US5285
