15 boats loaded and ready for travel.  Four vehicles to transport 13 DN racers to Czech Republic.  Everyone is doing well now with all of our parts arriving in one peice.  We will take part in some crazy traditions tonight and leave in the morning, great fun.

Talk soon hopefully,

Matt

Ah yes, drinking rocket fuel (German Schnapps) and eating smoked eels 'til the oil is dripping off your elbows.  Tradition indeed ...

Enjoy the trip, lifetime memories Smiley

Article from the Detroit Free Press:

Quote
"We're really hoping to place five Americans in the top 10 in Europe, which would be amazing," said Sherry, who has won several world titles.

Racers such as Sherry and Struble will clock speeds of up to 120 m.p.h.

I knew those guys were fast but... Shocked

Things are going well in the Czech Republic.  We had a great day of practice.  The conditions are good, 15-20 cm of black with some bumps, not as bad as Lake Pepin.  Temp. today was 25 F and it was blowing 8-15 with some pretty big stingers coming down the course.  It has been rated an 8.  We are enjoying Eggenberg beer which has been a local brew since 1560.  The Hungarians were very accomidating last night in the hotel lobby with some wonderful wine.  The Czech wine however is not so good.

We were lucky enough to be able to talk Merili Randmaa into traveling to the Worlds as well.  We picked her up from the airport in Prague yesterday and are enjoying her company as you would imagine.

The opening ceremonies were great today, 14 countries represented.

Racing starts tomorrow at 10, we will keep you updated.

Michael,

Thanks for the update!

Tell Merili all her friends on the "right side" of the the Mississippi, as you face South, ah, that would be Minnesota, are rooting for her to make it to the Gold Fleet! Wink   She Proved She Deserves To Be There On Lake Pepin!  Go Merili!

I'm sure the Det Free Press meant to say 120 kph, and not mph, (almost 75 mph)  which G 737 has achieved!

Go Team USA!

I just heard from someone at the worlds.  I was told that the Aluminum mini qualifier was run.  They attempted the Bronze mini qualifier but they did not make the time limit.  All is still well in the Czech Republic.

Rumor has it:

5 races were completed today, winds 12 –20.  The Americans are doing well, Ron Sherry had 3 bullets, Matt Struble. has a string of 2nd and 3rd. John Dennis has been top 10 in every race.  Aaron Stange and Jim Hadley are also running in the top 10’s most races.  John Harper was on the receiving end of a downwind spinout collision, which removed his bow.  He is OK but watching from the sidelines.

2. Ron Sherry 14 pkt.
3. Thomas Lindgren 20 pkt.
4. Łukasz Zakrzewski 21 pkt.
5. Tomasz Zakrzewski 24 pkt.
....
11. Jarosław Radzki 47 pkt.
14. Paweł Burczyński 61 pkt.
15. Rychard Mrózek 61 pkt.
16. Adam Baranowski 61 pkt.
22. Michał Burczyński 77 pkt.
23. Jerzy Taber 79 pkt.
25. Dariusz Kardaś 90 pkt.

When I know more, I will post more.
