I'll have an update on ice conditions and possible locations later today or this evening.  Waiting on ice reports and watching to see what this weather system is going to do that is currently pushing through southern Michigan/northern Ohio.
Central region seems to be between older snow ice and new ice developments.

As of now Gull Lake in Kalamazoo and Elk Lake are the new developments.  Houghton Lake may have been snowed out  Toledo needs to loose some snow.

Stay tuned,

Central Lakes Championships are postponed.

Snow in the southern part of the region knocked off a few good possibilities.  Newer ice has yet to fully develop.

Recreational sailing can probably be had in the northern lower.  Lake Charlevoix and Elk are possibilities but not yet fully checked.  Ice was reported 2.5 to 4" -  sailable but not for a large fleet. Please ckeck before sailing!  Most everything south of Muskegon/Houghton/Bay City is heavly snow covered.

Not sure if we will shoot for next weekend or wait til after the Worlds.

A holiday weekend and you rule out Thunder Bay?

How did my old friend say it?  Ah yes, ".....miles to go before I sleep"

You guys are lucky it was out of the "Region".  Besides, we'll probably be there in a few weeks.
