Earlier in the week there were various postings on ice-fishing sites about deep slush (1+ feet) areas on Lake Mendota.

"Cleats on the ice" reports yesterday and today indicate that Lake Mendota is cleaning up nicely.
On the center of the lake the snow is gone, and the soft surface layer is about 1" thick and diminishing. No soft areas or slush "bogs" were seen.

Today's ice-check found very rough ice, so there is no 4-Lakes' Club racing this weekend:

Green Lake is still reporting good ice.
