On January 28 and 29, 2012, the Skeeter Ice Boat Club will be holding races for Skeeters, Nites, and DNs on Delavan Lake, Wisconsin.
Access to the ice is at the Delavan Lake YC, 1501 Cedar Point Dr.
There is a large area OF THIN, UNSAFE, dark looking ice, in the northeast portion of the lake, between Lake Lawn Resort and the Inlet.
Sailors should avoid sailing in that area.
The wind forecast for January 28 is 15-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. If you come to the ice and see most of the boats are parked, and not sailing, it is a signal that conditions are not safe. Proceed with caution.
